Welcome to POETIC 2012, the International Workshop on the "Physics Opportunities at an ElecTron Ion Collider" (POETIC 2012) that will take place at the Indiana Memorial Union of Indiana University at Bloomington from August 20 to August 22, 2012.
The primary goal of this workshop is to continue advancing the field of electron ion collider physics through a highly focused theory workshop, following the successful efforts of the INT 2010 fall program and a recent workshop at The National Institute for Theoretical Physics (NITheP), South Africa. At this time we feel the need to continually bring together the community, to facilitate collaborations and consensus, and to make a very strong physics case for a future Long Range Plan. We anticipate that in the long term this workshop will develop into a periodic gathering of researchers in the field.
While the central theme of the workshop will be the physics of an electron ion collider, the workshop will also cover the strongly related physics at the CEBAF, RHIC, and LHC experimental programs. The workshop will aim primarily at developments on the theory/phenomenology side, but experimental progress will also be addressed.
The workshop agenda has now been posted here!
